New WheelZ on Stand-Ninja R250

COMPLETE DETAILS OF NINJA R250

Kawasaki has marketed the Ninja 250R since 1986 as an entry-level sport motorcycle intended for use on paved roads. The bike is marketed in the US as the Ninja 250R, as the ZX250 in the UK, and as the GPX250 elsewhere. It is an entry level sports motorcycle with a fairing made further as if an actual off-road sports bike. Bajaj along with Kawasaki will be marketing it in India and is soon expected to be seen in the market in Bajaj Pro biking showrooms. The Ninja 250R saw its first major change last year (called the 2008 Ninja 250R). The new look Ninja really looks one of the best looking bikes to be launched last year. While the older version sold for around USD 3000, the new one sells for USD 3500 (or around 1.3lakh Indian rupees). Bajaj will import the Ninja250R in CKD form from Thailand to save on custom duties.

FEATURES:

The Ninja 250R features a six-speed transmission that has been revised for smoother shifting, and is mated to a more durable clutch. An entirely new radiator provides better cooling while being lighter in weight. A new radiator fan is quieter. On the chassis front, a new diamond-type frame constructed of high tensile steel provides a steeper steering head rake angle, which results in an unchanged wheelbase when mated with a longer swing arm. The fork is larger and stiffer (37mm versus 36mm), with revised settings. The rear suspension utilizes a new Kayaba shock that is 5-way adjustable for preload. The damping is also revised outback.

At the core of the lightweight Ninja 250R is an engine that thrives on high-rpm excitement. The gutsy 249cc parallel twin has been retuned to spice up its smooth and predictable power delivery. It now offers more low- and mid-range torque thanks to revisions to its dual overhead camshafts and a new 2-into-1 exhaust system. A silky smooth six-speed transmission tops off the sport bike equipment list, enabling the 250R to exploit a power band that’s sure to please riders with its beginner friendly low-end grunt and a lively top-end rush.

Compact size, exceptional personality and a low price tag highlight Kawasaki's new Ninja 250R quarter-liter performer. Considering how much fun it is to ride and the fact that it's the only 250cc sport bike sold in the U.S., it's no wonder the Ninja 250R has been a strong seller for over a decade. Its successful blend of a rider-friendly engine, easy-to-operate chassis and super sport styling worthy of its Ninja moniker, this model was developed to offer real world performance to riders of all skill levels and goes to show that good things do come in small packages.

Following are some performance figures of Kawasaki Ninja 250R:

1) 0-100km/h: 5.75 sec
2) Top speed: 176km/h
3) Fuel economy: Around 22-30kmpl

Know U R wheelZ-MPFI

Now a days each n every vehicle is comoing with MPFI.Multi Port Fuel injection where electronic solenoid is used to inject the fuel at correct propotion and required air fuel mixture is injected.

Several injection systems are there and MPFI provide better performance and fuel economy when compared other systems. In the multi point fuel injection system an injector is located in the intake manifold passage. The fuel is supplied to the injectors via a fuel rail in the case of top fed fuel injectors and via a fuel gallery in the intake manifold in the case of bottom fed fuel injectors. Most of the MPFI systems use one injector per cylinder but in certain applications up to two injectors per cylinder is used to supply the required fuel for the engine.

This system injects fuel into individual cylinders, based on commands from the ‘on board engine management system computer’ – popularly known as the Engine Control Unit/ECU.Depending on the system encountered the injectors can fire either once or twice per cycle. ECU collect various information from various sensors placed all over the vehicle and calculate the correct proportion of AFR.

Various sensors used....

MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR (MAF):
The mass air flow sensor is positioned in the air intake duct or manifold and measures the mass of incoming air. From this acquired data the ECU calculates the required fuel for the specific air mass flow rate. The MAF works on the hot wire or hot film concept. The hot wire/film is maintained at a constant calibrated temperature. The passing air cools down the hot wire/film and the added energy required to maintain the calibrated temperature is directly proportional to the mass of air passing by the hot wire. The MAF also compensates for humidity as humid air, denser or cooler, absorbs more heat from the sensor, requiring more current to maintain the calibration temperature.

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS)

The TPS is a three-wire sensor that is mounted on the throttle body assembly and is actuated by the throttle shaft. The TPS is basically a variable resistor (potentiometer) that sends a voltage signal to the ECU that is proportional to the throttle shaft rotation. When the throttle shaft is open the sensor emits a high voltage signal and when the throttle shaft is closed it emits a low voltage signal. The voltage signal from the TPS changes between 0.45 V at idle to 4.5 to 5.0V at wide open throttle.

OXYGEN SENSOR:

The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold and its function is to measure the oxygen content in the exhaust gases. The sensor is an electrochemical cell, which develops a voltage signal between its two electrodes that is proportional to the oxygen content in the exhaust gases. The oxygen sensor adjusts and maintains an optimum air fuel mixture to control the exhaust emission and the fuel economy. When the oxygen content in the exhaust is high due to a lean mixture the output voltage of the sensor is close to zero. If the fuel air mixture is on the rich side, the oxygen content in the exhaust is low and the output voltage of the sensor approaches 1.0 volts.

ELECTRONIC COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (ECT):

The coolant temperature sensor is a two-wire sensor that is threaded into the engine block and is in direct contact with the coolant. The function of this sensor is to generate a signal that the ECU uses to adjust the fueling levels required for the operation of the engine and operate ancillaries. The thermistor contained in the sensor generates an electric signal that is proportional to the coolant temperature. At low temperatures the resistance is high generating a 5-volt signal in the ECU.At normal engine operating temperatures the resistance of the sensor is low (180–200 ohms) which generates 1–2 volt signal in the ECU.
CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR (CKP):

Crankshaft position sensor is used to detect engine speed/ engine rotation position. They allow the ECU to change the injector opening; spark timing in various engine conditions The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor system consists of a CKP sensor plate and a pickup coil. The sensor plate has 34 teeth and is installed on the crankshaft. The pickup coil is made of an iron core and a magnet. The sensor plate rotates and, as each tooth passes through the pickup coil, a pulse signal is created. The pickup coil generates 34 signals per engine revolution. Based on these signals, the ECM calculates the crankshaft position and engine RPM. Using these calculations, the fuel injection time and ignition timing are controlled.

IDLE SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR (ISC)

The IAC is located in the throttle body of the TBI, MPFI and CMFI systems. The valve consists of a stepper motor that adjusts the position of its pintle to vary the bypass air during idle and off idle conditions. During the closed throttle condition (idle), the ECU constantly compares actual engine speed with the programmed desired engine speeds. Discrepancy between these two values result in activation of the stepper motor increasing or decreasing the bypass air around the throttle plate(s) until desired engine speed is achieved.

Inputs collected from these sensors are sent to ECU and it do rest of the works...

ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU)

The function of the ECU is to “tweak” or “fine tune” the engine operation to obtain the most complete and efficient combustion process. The ECU microprocessor receives input signals from various sensors from the engine which were discussed above and generates specific outputs to maintain optimum engine performance. The engine operating modes controlled by the ECU is the following:
• Cold and hot start
• Acceleration enrichment
• Battery voltage compensation
• Deceleration cut/off
• Run mode (open loop or closed loop)
OPEN LOOP — Open loop defines the engine operation where the fueling level is calculated by the ECU with only the input signals from the throttle position sensor (TPS), from the coolant and/or air charge temperature, and from the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) or the mass air flow sensor (MAF).
CLOSED LOOP — Closed loop defines the engine operation where the fueling level is calculated and corrected by the ECU based on the voltage signal from the O2 sensor. When the O2 sensor emits a voltage signal above 0.45V due to a rich mixture in the exhaust manifold, the ECU reduces the fueling level by reducing the pulse width of the injector. The O2 sensor voltage is the feedback that modifies the fuel control program
that is based on other signals.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The process of determining the amount of fuel, and its delivery into the engine, are known as fuel metering. Modern systems are nearly all electronic, and use an electronic solenoid (the injector) to inject the fuel. An electronic engine control unit calculates the mass of fuel to inject. The ‘on-board’ ECU primarily controls the Ignition Timing and quantity of fuel to be injected. The latter is achieved by means of controlling the ‘duration’ for which the Injector solenoid valve coil is kept energized – popularly known as the ‘pulse-width’
The mass airflow sensor senses the mass of the air that flows past it, giving the computer an accurate idea of how much air is entering the engine. The next component in line is the Throttle Body. The throttle body has a throttle position sensor mounted onto it, typically on the butterfly valve of the throttle body. The throttle position sensor (TPS) reports to the computer the position of the throttle butterfly valve, which the ECM uses to calculate the load upon the engine. The fuel system consists of a fuel pump (typically mounted in-tank), a fuel pressure regulator, fuel lines (composed of either high strength plastic, metal, or reinforced rubber), a fuel rail that the injectors connect to, and the fuel injectors. There is a coolant temperature sensor (ECT) that reports the engine temperature to the ECM, which the engine uses to calculate the proper fuel ratio required. In sequential fuel injection systems there is a camshaft position sensor (CKP), which the ECM uses to determine which fuel injector to fire. The last component is the oxygen sensor. After the vehicle has warmed up, it uses the signal from the oxygen sensor to perform fine tuning of the fuel trim. Based on a ‘programmed’ interpretation of all this input data, the ECU gives the various ‘commands’ to the Engine’s fuel intake and spark ignition timing systems, to deliver an overall satisfactory performance of the Engine from start to shut down, including ‘emission control’. A multipoint fuel injection system generally delivers a more accurate and equal mass of fuel to each cylinder than can a carburetor, thus improving the cylinder-to-cylinder distribution. Exhaust emissions are cleaner because the more precise and accurate fuel metering reduces the concentration of toxic combustion byproducts leaving the engine, and because exhaust cleanup devices such as the catalytic converter can be optimized to operate more efficiently since the exhaust is of consistent and predictable composition.

New wheelZ on stand

Much awaited Ford Fiesta 1.6 Duratec S is ready to roll out and so just I shared what I collected from bunch of sites.

The  petrol –
Never has raw performance looked so good! A 101 PS engine, all-new colors, new aerodynamic styling kit, 15 inch alloys and all new ebony and jasper blue interior environment makes this the "car buffs" dream come true!
A car that’s every bit what it looks like, and more. 101 PS, 0-100 in 11.43 seconds, five star rated for handling and stability… now in the skin of a true blue street rod.
With 15 inch alloy wheels, low profile rubber, aerodynamic spoilers, and a front air dam that will suck in enough to leave everyone on the outside breathless. And then there’s the inside. New ebony and jasper blue interior environment, a honeycomb instrument cluster, leather wrapped steering wheel and optimum aluminum finish gear lever. Punched alloy pedals, brush steel console and the refined aggression that only fine pedigree can bring. After all, when you’ve worked hard for the success you’ve achieved, you might as well enjoy flaunting it!

Safety is not an optional extra on the New Ford Fiesta. Driver and passenger airbags provide calm reassurance, no matter what the road conditions are.
Air bags supplement the safety belt by reducing the chance that the passenger's head and upper body will strike some part of the vehicle's interior. They also help reduce the risk of serious injury by distributing crash forces more evenly across the occupant's body
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) determines the load condition on the front and rear axles and makes differentiated adjustments to the braking pressures. ABS also allows the driver to swerve around an obstacle without having to release the brakes. With ABS the driver is in full control always.

The DTE displays the estimated distance the vehicle can travel before it runs out of fuel. This is displayed in the centrally mounted instrument cluster LCD and is displayed when the ignition is switched on or when the engine is running.
About 400 virtual crash simulations were done during the Fiesta's development, with every simulation taking approximately 5 hours of a super computer. Each of these computers have 256 CPU's (a normal computer has one) and 10, 00,000 MB RAM (a normal computer has 512mb). In fact, the computers engaged in this exercise are similar to the ones used by NASA.

Intelligent technology enhances every bit of the New Ford Fiesta’s performance. Be it GEM, the Generic Electronic Module that decides optimum engine performance parameters based on your driving style, or the automatic defoggers that switch off (timed), the defogging so that glass does not get damaged. And Drive-By-Wire technology ensures that your every wish is your car’s command.
And to conclude, It has many flavors together i.e. like two side of coins, both styling and performance. On the other hand the New Fiesta range is luxurious but it also looks sporty. On one hand it’s safe, and on the other it’s exciting. On one hand it’s economical, on the other it gives you best in class acceleration.

Civic Hybrid

India’s First Hybrid Car is launched

Japanese auto maker Honda motors has finally launched the country’s first hybrid car, the Civic Hybrid.

The hybrid comes with 1.3 litre petrol engine that produces 95 PS and an electric motor which churn out 16 bhp power. The car is priced at Rs 21.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company will import the completely built unit (CBU) from its Japan plant where it manufactures the hybrid cars.

Honda Siel Car India, President and CEO Masahiro Takedagawa said, “This car comes to India at a much higher price as the import duty is over 100 per cent and has asked the government to support them in promoting this eco-friendly car. In other countries, government subsidies such eco-friendly cars. We are hopeful that the government in India will also look at lowering the import duty."

India is the 33rd country where Honda has launched its Civic Hybrid.

Specialty of this vehicle is it’s made of Hybrid technology which will power the wheelZ by two models, one is gasoline engine and other is motor. Honda used its very own VTEC engine but with an advancement of i-VTEC.

The Honda Civic Hybrid System features a 3-stage i-VTEC + IMA that employs Honda’s 1.3L i-VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) engine to provide three stages of valve timing (low-speed, high-speed, and valve deactivated mode), combined with a compact and efficient electric motor, Honda’s IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system.(Here comes the hybrid!!!)

It comes with an ‘idle-stop’ feature that turns off the engine temporarily, resulting in saving fuel and minimizing emissions. As soon as you brake the Hybrid, the ‘idle-stop’ feature occurs automatically and the engine restarts as soon as the brake pedal is released. Unlike the mechanical linkage from the accelerator to the fuel-injection throttle, the Civic Hybrid uses ‘Drive-by-Wire’ technology.

Top 10 WheelZ-Detroit auto show

Hi guys I hope everybody know about DETROIT auto shows and top ten cars which is officially announced is listed below. Have a glance.....

10 | Dodge ZEO

Automakers are proving that a future, potentially without petroleum, can still be fun for the driving enthusiast. The ZEO is a macho little sports coupe that has Hemi-like thrust solely from an electric powertrain. We also dig those 23-inch wheels and the pillarless scissor doors. We can see this little beast rolling up to a stoplight in about five years looking for a completely silent, electric-only drag race. We get the feeling that Dodge might be a little uncomfortable about putting an electric motor into one of its concept cars. Instead of reveling in all the technology that went into creating the ZEO (it stands for "Zero Emissions Operation"), the company merely says that the ZEO's 268-horsepower, rear-drive motor will get you to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, "which rivals Chrysler's famed Hemi power plant."

9 | Hyundai Genesis

The Genesis marks a huge step forward for Hyundai. Who would have thought the Korean automaker could ever build a V8 rear-drive luxury car for around $30,000? But what impressed many journalists here at the show was the level of fit and finish on the Genesis. And we saw a handful of product planners from luxury manufacturers pouring over this ride, which may be the best complement yet to Hyundai's efforts.

8 | Hummer HX Concept

Hummer's are supposed to look tough. And the HX certainly delivers. It's dressed like a battle rig that just rolled out of a futuristic video game—think Halo on E85. But we like the HX because it has the hardware. GM says it has locking differentials and other hardcore off-roading components. And since the HX is a prelude to the next Hummer, the H4, we can expect that vehicle might be the most fun, most capable Hummer yet. Stay tuned.

7 | Jeep Renegade Concept

Chrysler's three concepts were a hit, but the Renegade was our favorite. With its clean-diesel series hybrid powertrain, this little Jeep shows that, a decade from now, four-wheeling can be environmentally responsible. We'd sure like to test the hybrid-electric off-roader on a four-wheel-drive trail. Imagine the low-end torque from the electric motors as you climb a boulder. That's our kind of fun.

6 | T oyota A-BAT Concept

The A-BAT isn't just a fantasy concept. This small, car-based pickup is practical and innovative enough to head for production. It's efficiency at its best. We really like the removable power pack and the use of solar panels on the dash to power accessories. The bed, too, with its folding midgate and sliding drawer, makes the most of modest space available. Under the hood is a hybrid, four-cylinder drivetrain. Let's hope Toyota builds this one.
5 | Lincoln MKT Concept

Lincoln's touring concept shows that Ford is tackling several environmental concerns, head-on. First, the MKT is powered by one of Ford's new EcoBoost engines using direct fuel injection and turbocharging, to make a smaller motor perform more efficiently. The MKT addresses the growing problem of weight in today's cars, too, by using advanced body panels made from recycled plastics. And the interior is made from many types of sustainable materials. Oh, and we think the design ain't bad, either.

4 | 2009 Dodge Ram

Dodge's new fullsize pickup makes our cut for a number of reasons. Design is subjective, but after seeing the truck in the metal, we think it's the best-looking pickup in the segment. The forward-thrusting grill and taut lines look great. Dodge packed the pickup with innovations as well, like the coil-sprung rear suspension and the unique bed storage system. Plus, they've massaged the Hemi to deliver 380 hp, brought a true crew cab to the lineup and announced plans for both a diesel and a hybrid. This truck is going to be a hit.

3 | Mitsubishi RA Concept

The Lancer Evolution has a drivetrain that makes us salivate. But why not put that advanced all-wheel-drive system in a sleeker wrapper? That's what Mitsu did at Detroit this year. From any angle, the RA Concept looks muscular and ready to pounce. The nose is an elegant combination of an Audi R8 and Mitsubishi's current design language. But underneath that hood is a clean diesel. The RA is a great example of how concept cars these days must show style substance, not just one or the other.

2 | Audi R8 TDI V12 Concept

The Audi R8 is one of our favorite sports cars, both dynamically and visually. This concept R8 simply puts an exclamation point on that sentence. A diesel supercar is a smart idea for the future—especially if it produces over 700 lb-ft. of torque. But it's not just the powerplant that makes us wild for this one. The roof has a giant NACA duct to feed the motor, and the body has a subtle aero package that makes the R8 look even tougher. Audi has a history of making turning concepts into reality, so here's hoping that comes true again—and soon.

1 | 2009 Corvette ZR1

We've been waiting patiently for months, endured numerous name changes (Blue Devil, Corvette SS) and finally we've laid our own eyes on the 2009 ZR1—the most potent Corvette in history. Do we like it? Uh ... yeah. The carbon fiber looks amazing, the polycarbonate hood bulge is cool, and the 620-hp engine under that hood should make this car one of the most thrilling on the planet.

So guys ,when can we have a test drive?
